What lovely weather! Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful 70 degree weather on my birthday! I made this pie to celebrate-- It's a recipe from Evan's mom that he remembers from his childhood (see her handwritten recipe). I made blueberry topping from scratch and a homemade crust as well. What a treat!!

I often listen to Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen mystery books on CD while I'm working in the kitchen. "Hannah Swensen" owns a bakery and Fluke includes recipes in her books. Just had to try this one, and we weren't disappointed! For recipe click here Homemade Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
These are best rolls ever! For recipe, click here. Brownie Roll-Out Cookies
Saw this recipe in the Sunday newspaper... This is probably the best chocolate cookie I've ever had. The raw dough reminded me of the filling in a fudge sandwich cookie!. Plan to decorate some for a Valentine's Day's Day gift... :) For recipe, click here. To save time, I rolled dough into a cylinder, refrigerated, then cut in slices. Quick and YUM!! Dill Bread Rolls
I followed this recipe for Dill Bread, but instead of baking as a loaf, baked as 8 rolls instead... Delicious! For recipe, click HERE Decadent Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Brownies
There are many variations for this recipe online. Below is how I made them...DELICIOUS!!!! Try what works for you! Recipe: 1 package brownie mix (for mine I needed to add 3 eggs, 1/4 C water and 2/3 C vegetable oil) Filling: 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese (room temperature) 1 egg 1/3 cup white sugar 1 12 oz. bag chocolate chips (or less if you don't want to be so decadent!) Directions: Follow directions for brownie mix - cake style. Mix room temp cream cheese, sugar, and egg in small bowl until smooth and creamy. Add chocolate chips. Set aside. Pour prepared brownie batter into greased 9 x 13 glass pan. Plop large spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture on top of brownie batter into 12 sections / making 12 LARGE brownies. Of course, you may position the cream cheese part however you want! Bake at 350 for 45 mins. or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and refrigerate. Serve with a dollop of Cool Whip. :) BUTTERMILK OATCAKES
Not the prettiest picture, but these taste great. We just used syrup, didn't make the compote. Made these three weeks in a row now. Healthy AND delicious! For recipe click here Rice, Cheddar & Spinach Pie
Made this recently -- delicious! (I added some turkey sausage and used some fresh spinach I had on hand.) For recipe click here |
