My lovely sister-in-law organized a Gingerbread Man Decorating Contest
at our Thanksgiving celebration yesterday!
So much fun! Here's Evan's (left) and mine (right)
A friend recently asked me if I'd read Ann Voskamp's book "1000 Gifts". She said it wad a great blessing to her during a difficult time in her life. I went to Ann's website and came across this page with the video below.
B E A U T I F U L ...
This is Wanda B. Goines. At the time this video was filmed she was 92 years old.
She calls this poem “The Gift Wrap & The Jewel“. The words are printed below.
I enjoy watching baking competitions on TV and was inspired to try something a little over-the-top for Evan's birthday cake this year-- a four-layer, supposed-to-be-'pumpkin'-shaped chocolate cake with orange-colored peanut butter frosting. Each layer had chocolate frosting and chopped up Reece's cups in the middle, and as you can see-- the whole thing is covered in fall sprinkles and peanut M-n-Ms. Pheww! Yeah, it's a little rich... While it's no showpiece, Evan liked it and it was fun to make!
Thank you for landing on my blog! This a collection of photos, art, poems, thoughts, and other stuff on my creative journey since 2010.
