Merry Christ-Mac Monday!

After I wrote yesterday's post, I came across this podcast last night! I love Joel! When I was a heart-broken single person in my late 30s, early 40s his messages of hope were a tremendous encouragement. And they still are-- Jesus IS our Hope and Encourager, and He is ALWAYS relevant! Check it out! In my high school yearbook one of my goals was "to be at peace with myself". So many warring, condemning thoughts within my head often seemed to overtake me. Nothing in this world could take away that angst and turmoil. Through a series of events I was introduced to Sar Shalom, the Jewish name for JESUS-- The Prince of Peace, and peace came... finally. But as with all the troubles of life, the quiet moments could be shattered and peace easily stolen. But everytime I return to Him-- everyday, His peace is ever-abounding, available to receive, anew and afresh, a gift-- to me, and you. "...the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole." Isaiah 53:5bAccording to Strong's Concordance 7965 Shalom means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.
