I finished my submission for the Mountain Art Show today... Hooray!! I had someone keeping me company while I worked feverishly this week.... That's Rose, aka The Fuzz! The "Wren" idea, which I posted on June 17th turned into "Wren's Summer Song", a 19" x 31" collage (unframed). I'll have a better photo of it up soon. 9/16/10 I just found out this was accepted into the show.... YEA!!

Living in the country, we often come across all kinds of critters in our house, chiefly among them is spiders. And my husband likes to rescue ALL of them-- that is moving them outside, not squishing them. So oftentimes I'll see a tissue sitting outside our front door or on the windowsill (shower rescue), pick it up, and the spider's gone!! Hence this silly 'song' that popped in my head this morning. And... if you know where the spiders go, can you please let me know? THANKS!!
Where do the spiders go when we rescue them and let them go? Do they find their way back home? Where do the spiders go? Here are a couple more shots of our recent trip to VA. I loved seeing the black and white cows. They reminded me of our black and white bunny, Tyler. Every time we spotted animals we slid into a silly sing-song rhyme like, "Cow-ies, cow-ies, lowing in the field...", but often struggled with second line... :) I was wondering what "lowing" meant, and my husband said he thinks it's when they lie down and rest, but the dictionary says it actually means "moo-ing"... Hmmm...Interesting....! It was a fun trip! The sunsets were spectacular...
While driving around on vacation last summer in Virginia, we saw these cows taking a dip in a green 'pond'! Cows in green stew
What are you doin'? Walkin' and moo-in' in green squishy tastes like fishy Bathing beauties Don't get cooties from green greenies Psych! "Moo-moo!" Little white moon residing over all
Sing a song of yesterdays spring, summer, winter, fall Alone you beam, but with hidden stars are kept Friends forever all their secrets you accept In your memory and reverie the peace that comes with dawn Keeps you still, white and holy as you form a bright, new song! |
