I love these songs from the worship CD-- Anthem of Praise by New Creation Church
In The Story of With, Arnold introduces the concept of "Kintsugi"-- the Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery with gold. In an excerpt from the book the character Ryder says:
"It's the art of repairing what has been shattered by infusing golden lacquer in the fractured places." "But that just highlights the brokenness." "That is the point. Rather than hide the imperfections, they highlight them by filling the cracks with liquid gold. They view the repaired item as even more valuable, because it is now unique from all other vessels." pp. 148-149 and "The Creator can put the fragments of your life and heart back together with His healing light. Simply give the pieces to Him." pp.154 Wow! I'd never heard of Kintsugi, but I love including gold paper or paint in my artwork. About 20 years ago I completed this fabric collage/paining (above) with gold paint. Homemade Bread Bowls! I love getting the soup-in-a-bread-bowl when we go to Panera, and on Soup-er Bowl Sunday, decided to make soup with HOMEMADE BREAD BOWLS. This recipe is so easy! And you don't have to have a stand mixer-- I just stirred it by hand... All you need is a little waiting time while the dough rises. Note: I used bread flour instead of all-purpose the first few times, then tried it with 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 bread flour, both delicious! This is the recipe I followed. The dough also makes great rolls, 8-12 depending on the size you want. To go with the bread, I made Cheesy Southwestern Chicken Tortilla Soup, a new favorite-- although we used ground beef and water instead of chicken and chicken broth. Try it--you'll like it! :)
Psalm 17:6-9
I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings, from the wicked who do me violence, my deadly enemies who surround me. Valentine treats for my tweet-E!
I received some donut and donut hole pans from one of my beautiful sister-in-laws for Christmas, and have been wanting to try them out! I found these recipes online and oooooooh, what a treat they are! I found this super-easy Cake Mix Donuts recipe HERE, and the Best Chocolate Frosting recipe HERE. (My husband's a big fan of peanut butter-cups, so instead of 1 Cup butter, I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup peanut butter. It's our new favorite frosting-- Wish I'd tried this sooner!) |
