Kathy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1987. During her final semester she completed an internship at the St. Mary’s County Historical Society print shop. Shortly thereafter she began an 18-year career in graphic design and printing for Victory Christian Fellowship (DE), a ministry involved in local and international Christian ministry, managing the design work and pre-press production for an in-house print shop serving numerous departments, outreach ministries, and outside customers. While there, she completed their two-year School of Biblical Studies program as well as received computer graphics training at Delaware College of Art and Design. In a volunteer capacity, Kathy created and led the "Young Artist Group", a bi-monthly art program for children aged 5-12 for children in the church.
