Here's the crayon bag my mother made for me in kindergarten.
I loved my crayons! My Mom, a teacher and gifted artist herself, made this little apple dress. |
In 2010 I began taking Book Illustration classes with Lena Shiffman at the Center for Contemporary Arts. She encouraged us to join the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators. I did, and began attending awesome SCBWI Conferences, workshops and events in NJ and Eastern PA.
I was extremely fortunate to be featured on Kathy Temean's Writing & Illustrating "Ilustrator Saturday" blog. In 2010 I was also selected to participate in the Rutgers University Council on Children's Literature One-on-One Conference. Though I'm not actively pursuing publication or a current member of SCBWI, I find children's book illustration fascinating, and enjoy creating stories and illustrations featuring our cat and rabbit as a hobby.
