"As you may know, our goal is to change the culture by publishing great books with strong moral values. We do not consider LPC to be a "Christian publisher," although most of our authors and editors would probably call themselves Christians....

“The homemaker has the ultimate career. |
“I think I can understand that feeling about a housewife’s work being like that of Sisyphus (who was the stone rolling gentleman). But it is surely, in reality, the most important work in the world. What do ships, railways, mines, cars, government etc exist for except that people may be fed, warmed, and safe in their own homes? As Dr Johnson said, ‘To be happy at home is the end of all human endeavour’. (1st to be happy, to prepare for being happy in our own real Home hereafter: 2nd, in the meantime, to be happy in our houses.) We wage war in order to have peace, we work in order to have leisure, we produce food in order to eat it. So your job is the one for which all others exist.”
Let's hear it for homemakers!!
I'm not sure why... Maybe because besides being a mini-piece of artwork-- that person was thoughtful enough to 1) take the time to select and purchase a card, 2) write something personal, 3) address and stamp it, 4) and mail it. Big Stuff in our crazy-fast paced world!
Here's one of the cards I received last year, still sitting in my kitchen (among others)... from Susan, who gets more beautiful each year. I love cards, and I love Susan!
It's beginning to look a lot like... WINTER!
And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt;
and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
2 Jesus called a little child to him. He stood the child before the followers.
3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth. You must change and become like little children.
If you don’t do this, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 The greatest person in the kingdom of heaven is the one who makes himself humble like this child."
