This little cupcake from Wegman's reminded Evan of the children's book character, Georgie...
As children, my husband I both loved the Georgie books by Robert Bright. Georgie -- the shy, gentle ghost was a great friend to Miss Oliver the owl and Herman the cat. The title to the left is one of my favorites!
Our home is unusual in that we have TWO Halloween birthdays in our family -- my father and husband. Growing up, Evan LOVED going trick-or-treating, then coming home and opening birthday presents! My Mom used to make cheeseburgers with the cheese shaped as carved pumpkin faces. So creative! She also made by hand the best costumes. I'll never forget the 'bride' or 'princess' costume she lovingly made me in kindergarden. She must have spent HOURS on it... I felt sooooo special! Thanks, Mom!
