I attended my first NJ SCBWI Conference on June 4-5 at the Princeton Hyatt Regency hotel in Princeton, NJ. It was a beautiful setting and a great conference! Wonderful to meet so many helpful, creative people! I had my first portfolio review with Denise Cronin (VP, Art Directior, Viking Children's Books). She was extremely kind and gave me an outstanding critique on my first story and book Illustrations. Back to the drawing board, on many aspects, but with more clarity and direction now. Thanks again, Denise, for your expert advice! :)

The conference raffled several fundraiser prizes, and I was blessed to win two, one of which was the coveted and adorable albino alligator and autographed copy of Kristin Clark Venuti's "Leaving the Bellweathers"!! He's soooooo cute!
