An awesome visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art yesterday!
Here's a view overlooking the European Sculpture & Decorative Arts 'garden'
I wonder who's missing from the front pedestal?
This is version #1, which was revised and changed into version #2 (to the right) | "Dream of a Lion,' 2012, 12 x 16, paper collage |
Which one do you like better? Why?
I created this illustration for a contest held at the Catherine Dickson Hoffman Branch of the Warren County Library. I chose to illustrate the Mother Goose Rhyme; " Daffy-down-dilly has come to town in a yellow petticoat and a green gown." Below are the steps of my process: 1. initial sketch scanned into Photoshop 2. tweaked and colored in Illustrator 3. Then adjustments in Photoshop again.
Initial sketch
I traced the sketch with a pen, then scanned it in and tweaked it in Photoshop, then opened it in Illustrator.
I initially colored it in Illustrator using the Live Trace and Live Paint tools...
We thought it was missing something... a "petticoat"! I forgot to add her petals....! Same process again... initially sketched the petals, scanned them in and placed on a new layer in Photoshop.
Decided to make the black squigglies colored and added a ladybug in Photoshop....
A few more color tweaks and added details in Photoshop, and this is the finished product!
